Chico Marty McFly! …el de Back to the Future.

y el Proyecto McFly 2015 qué es?

Pues ahí viene… el otro día viendo vídeos por ahí me encontré con un supuesto anuncio que vendía los tennis Nike que salieron en la película Back to the Future II. Los quue se amarraban solos. Entonces me puse a averiguar y encontré que la promoción venía de alquien que se le ocurrió la brillante idea de pedirle a la compañía de calzado deportivo Nike que saque al mercado los tennis.

Hay una petición en un website para que todo el mundo deje su firma y cabildear por la producción de los fantásticos tennis.

y bueno… los tennis de la película están buenos, pero como dijo mi amigo Vergentino, olvídate de los tennis yo quiero la patineta que flotaba en el aire! Ese si que es un invento que vale la pena! Dónde tenemos que firmar una petición para que Mattel las fabrique!

El pasado martes 19 de febrero, en la Universidad del Turabo, tuve la oportunidad de asistir a una conferencia de la fotógrafa puertorriqueña Viveca Venegas.

Viveca es la ganadora del Concurso Internacional de Fotografía 2007 de National Geographic. Su trabajo es impresionante. Tanto en el aspecto técnico como el lado humano.

Back in 1997 I got an instant message thru ICQ from a turkish artist named Serhat. My nickname on ICQ was Animator (I was doing a lot of 3D animation back then). He was searching for fellow artists and people working on animation so he found me.

We spent a lot of time chatting, we became good online friends and we even worked together in a couple of design projects. Back then he lived in Turkey and wanted to go abroad. Later on he was able to travel around Europe and several years ago he made it to the United States of America where he lives now (LA, California).

Last year (2007) when I was working as a producer for Tecnetico.com at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Serhat drove from LA to Las Vegas and we were able to meet in the real world for the first time. He was sick with a terrible cold, I was working and we were squeezing ten years of online memories and events in the 25 minutes that I was able to take off from work . Photographs were taken and we left with the promise to meet again some time soon.

So… today February 14, 2008, Serhat and I met again right here in Puerto Rico.

But did Serhat traveled from LA to Puerto Rico just to see he’s good friend James??? Not really.

(yo odiaba esas últimas tres palabras que acabo de escribir en inglés cada vez que aparecían en un capítulo de la serie de TV del Hombre Nuclear…)
